To say that Francis Ouimet dominated Massachusetts amateur golf in the 1910s-1920s would be a vast understatement. Among his numerous victories throughout the state, Ouimet proudly won the Massachusetts Amateur 6 times. Those victories reportedly meant more to Ouimet than almost any other in his career.
Offered here is Francis Ouimet's 1925 Massachusetts Amateur winner’s medal. This was Ouimet's record 6th and final Mass Amateur victory. Quite fittingly, the tournament was held at The Country Club at Brookline - 1 dozen years after Ouimet shocked the world at Brookline. There is perhaps no American golfer in history whose legend is more tied to a single golf course than that of Francis Ouimet and The Country Club at Brookline.
