This is a high grade set of circa late 1920s MacGregor Chieftan woods - consisting of a Driver, Brassie, and Spoon. MacGregor Chieftans are widely regarded as some of the most beautiful golf clubs ever produced. This set sold for a whopping $75 , which helps explain their rarity. It would take multiple decades for any mainstream golf clubs to sell for that much money again. This set likely dates to 1928, as these brass soleplates were replaced with aluminum starting in 1929.
The MacGregor Chieftan set offered here is exceptional. Yardsmore inlay on top, and real ivory was used for the face dowels.
