Offered here is a rare original 1905 letter from Harry Vardon recommending Frank Bellwood as head professional. Though we don't know to whom this letter was addressed, we do know that Bellwood was eventually hired by famed Garden City Golf Club as their Assistant Pro, and then eventually named Head Pro in 1911. In the letter, Vardon describes Bellwood as "sober, honest & obliging - good player, teacher, and good club maker."

Another great thing about this letter is that it comes from the prime of Vardon's career. In fact, his now-iconic letterhead only includes 4 Open Championship medals - because Vardon had yet to win his 5th and 6th Open Championships in 1911 and 1914.

Wonderful Harry Vardon letter in excellent condition with a very nice full-signature Vardon autograph at the bottom. Framed to an overall size of 17 1/4" x 17 3/4".
