Offered here is an actual course-used tee box sign from Carnoustie's 6th hole - Hogan's Alley.
The 6th hole at Carnoustie is famously dubbed "Hogan's Alley." The much safer play is to play your tee shot to the right side of the fairway. The left side of the fairway provides a much better angle into the green, but it is heavily bunkered and has Out of Bounds immediately to the left the entire length of the hole.
Well, Ben Hogan was unfazed by this in the 1953 British Open - the only Open in which he ever competed. Hogan challenged the left side all 4 rounds of the tournament. And all 4 times, he successfully hit his mark.
Ever since then, the 6th hole on Carnoustie's Championship Course has been informally called Hogan's Alley. Then, in 2003, Carnoustie officially named the hole "Hogan's Alley."
12" x 12" metal sign with plexi covering.
