This is no ordinary letter from Harry Vardon. In this October 1906 letter, Vardon goes into great detail about the overlapping grip, which is popularly known as the Vardon Grip. Vardon may not have invented the grip, but he popularized it, and it bears his name to this day. It is estimated that well over 90 percent of PGA Tour players use Vardon's overlapping grip today - over 110 years after this letter was written.
Exceptional content, and a great Harry Vardon signature at the end of the letter. On Vardon's ornate letterhead with Major Championship winning medals. Note that in 1906 Harry Vardon had only won 4 of his eventual 6 Open Championships. Matted and framed to 12" x 11".
