Circa 1890s semi long nose putter from the Willie Auchterlonie of St Andrews. Auchterlonie is one of the most celebrated clubmakers of the late 1890s to early 1900s. But because he only left the employee of Robert Forgan in 1893, Willie Auchterlonie did not make many "long nose" woods. According to The Clubmaker's Art by Jeff Ellis, "Auchterlonie made a few long nose style clubs." Offered here is one of those hard to find Auchterlonie "long nose" clubs - an 1890s putter. A very nice example from the renowned St Andrews clubmaker. Has original Auchterlonie stamped shaft.
