During Open Championship week in 1968, a special dinner was held to honor Roberto De Vicenzo. Sure, De Vicenzo was the defending Open Champion. But this dinner was held more so to support De Vicenzo after his scorecard gaffe that potentially cost him a victory in the 1968 Masters Tournament less than 3 months prior. The golf world truly rallied around Roberto De Vicenzo after the incident, and this is a great example.
This special dinner was attended by (and this menu/program autographed by) "Los Amigos de Roberto" including Arnold Palmer, Billy Casper, Gary Player, and many others.
