Presented here is the 1 of 1 set of hand stamped gold plated victory putters that Scotty Cameron produced for each of the 11 victories notched by golfers using his putters in 1996. Putter collectors likely already know about this famous set, which we are please to bring to the auction block for the very first time.
For the first time, in 1996, Scotty Cameron produced a set of gold plated putters that he hand stamped with details regarding each tournament victory with one of his putters. The gold putters were then brought to the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, FL where there were displayed (in a custom case also designed by Scotty) in January 1997 in the Titleist-Scotty Cameron booth. At the end of that show, the gold putters were sold to Edwin Watts Golf Shop. For many years, these gold putters were on display at the Edwin Watts Superstore in Orlando, FL, where countless Scotty Cameron fans made the pilgrimage to view them.
Each of these victory putters are unique - 1 of 1 - and are hand-stamped. Most significantly, the set includes three gold plated Tiger Woods victory putters, from Tiger's 1996 US Amateur victory and his first two PGA Tour victories (1996 Las Vegas Inv. and 1996 Walt Disney Classic). Each of the Tiger putters are also hand stamped "T. Woods" on the heel.
Tiger's gold plated victory putters alone are worth tens of thousands of dollars apiece, and some have speculated that the 1996 Las Vegas Invitational putter is among the most valuable putters in existence.
Our consignor would prefer to see these putters sold as a set, even though the break up value is extraordinary. If the winning bidder is interested, the original Scotty Cameron crafted case from the 1997 PGA Show is available at no charge provided the winner cover the shipping cost of the large display.
